What is TouchShort?

TouchShort is a free-to-install app for vertical short dramas, the one-to-two-minute serialized episodes made for phone screens. Google Play says "Every Touchshort series offers free trial episodes." After those you pay per episode with coins or subscribe to unlock everything. It launched on Google Play on 13 Jun 2024 and on the App Store on 26 Jun 2024.

The catalog covers romance, CEO, werewolf, vampire, revenge, thriller and time-travel stories, and the Google Play listing promises new series weekly. Is TouchShort legit?

Yes, TouchShort is a legitimate app sold through Apple and Google with named developers. On the App Store the seller is Chong Qing Sheng Rui Culture Communication Co., Limited (developer name "Sheng Rui Culture"), a mainland-China company. On Google Play the developer is "Touch tv" at Rm A17 2/F Hing Yip Centre, 31 Hing Yip St, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong, with a +853 (Macau) phone number.

Different entity names on each store are common in this category. ShortMax, for example, sells as SHORTTV LIMITED on iOS and SHORTMAX LIMITED on Google Play. The real caution with TouchShort is its size and its billing complaints, not its identity. Store purchases go through Apple or Google, which means you get their standard cancellation and refund routes.

How much does TouchShort cost?

TouchShort's weekly VIP starts at $9.99, the lowest weekly price in our research, and its coin packs run from $4.99 to $45.99 (US App Store, 26 Sep 2026). Apple shows the product labels but not the billing periods, so "Weekly" in a label is the only evidence of the period.

How much is TouchShort VIP per week?

TouchShort lists four weekly-labelled plans: $9.99, $12.49, $18.99 and $24.99. There is also a $29.99 item labelled only "Subscription". What do TouchShort coins cost?

TouchShort coins cost about 3.3 cents each, roughly three times the 1-cent coin used by Sereal+ and GoodShort. Only the largest pack offers a small discount: 1,500 coins for $45.99, against $49.90 for ten 150-coin packs. That saves $3.91, about 8% (TopDrama.app calculation).

How do you work out the real cost per episode?

Divide the coins an episode costs by about 30 to get the price in dollars. TouchShort does not publish a per-episode coin price, and we found no reliable user figure, so check the price shown on the paywall. As an illustration only (not TouchShort's actual price): an episode priced at 15 coins would cost about 50 cents, and one priced at 30 coins about $1. A 30-coin episode on TouchShort costs the same as a 100-coin episode on a 1-cent-coin app.

Break-even point: the $9.99 weekly plan beats coins if you would otherwise spend more than 300 coins in that week, since 300 coins cost $9.99. If you only dip into one or two locked episodes, coins are cheaper and carry no renewal risk.

What do users complain about on TouchShort?

TouchShort's complaints are few but concentrated on one issue: weekly charges. In the 100 most recent US App Store reviews, 21 give 1–2 stars. 18 of those describe trouble cancelling or weekly charges that continued, and the rest mostly mention login problems. That is a lower negative share than Sereal+ (77 of 100) or Playlet (64 of 100) in the same tally.

How do you cancel TouchShort?

Cancel TouchShort in the store you paid through, at least 24 hours before the next weekly renewal. On iPhone: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions, then TouchShort. On Android: Google Play, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not stop billing. TouchShort suits budget viewers who want one cheap week of unlimited viewing and will set a reminder to cancel. It also suits fans of werewolf, vampire, CEO and time-travel romance who want something beyond the biggest apps.

Who should skip TouchShort?

TouchShort vs DramaBox: which is better?

DramaBox is the better main app; TouchShort is cheaper for a single binge week. DramaBox tied for the #1 short drama app by in-app revenue in Q1 2026, at about US$140M (Sensor Tower, June 2026). It has 861,503 App Store ratings at 4.76★ and 5.46M Google Play reviews at 4.6★ (TopDrama.app snapshot, 26 Sep 2026), and it was profitable in 2024 (Media Partners Asia). DramaBox wins on scale, languages (16 vs 9), web access and catalog variety: translated, local and AI-made dramas. Only if you keep a single paid plan active at a time. Watch free episodes on both apps, then pay for one week where the story you are hooked on lives. Two weekly plans at $9.99 and $19.99 running together would cost $1,558.96 a year (TopDrama.app calculation).

Verdict: is TouchShort worth it?

• Legit and actively updated, with a named Chinese operator, Apple and Google billing, and a recent release (Aug 2026).
