How does the short drama cost calculator work?
The calculator uses four formulas. Paid episodes = episodes per series − free episodes. Coins cost per series = paid episodes × cost per paid episode. The monthly coins route multiplies that by series per month, and the weekly plan route multiplies the weekly price by weeks subscribed per month. Yearly figures are monthly × 12. The "never cancelled" figure is weekly price × 52, what a DramaBox weekly membership costs if it renews all year.
What does the calculator leave out?
It leaves out free coins from daily check-ins and rewarded ads, intro prices, taxes and currency conversion. It also ignores titles that still need coins during an active membership: DramaBox's Japan listing says some titles are for paid-plan members only, and some users report being asked for coins while subscribed. What is the DramaBox cost per series?
No official DramaBox cost per series exists. Real titles give a sense of scale: Deny Me, Dragon King has 50 episodes and Tempest: The Last Mecha has 58 (DramaBox web listings). At the default $0.30 per episode with 10 free, those cost about $12.00 and $14.40 by coins. Series are commonly 40–100 episodes, and DramaBox's Latin American projects typically run 70–80 (Produ, Jun 2026).
How do third-party estimates compare?
Third-party estimates run higher than our default. One site puts an 80-episode series at "$30–$50" by coins (shortdramaapps.com, unverified). Our calculation gives $14.00–$35.00 for 80 episodes, so that estimate implies more than $0.40 per paid episode. A 2024 App Store reviewer described "$20 for the equivalent of 40 episodes", about $0.50 an episode. Try $0.50 in the calculator for a cautious budget.

When is a weekly plan cheaper than coins?
A $19.99 weekly plan is cheaper than coins once you finish about 1.33 series of 50 paid episodes at $0.30 each in that week ($19.99 ÷ $15.00). At $0.20 per episode the break-even is about 2 series; at $0.50 it is under 1 series. The takeaway: if you plan to finish two or more DramaBox series in a burst, one week of VIP usually beats coins.
How much does a weekly plan cost if you forget it?
A weekly plan you forget costs 52 times its price each year: $1,039.48 at $19.99 and $675.48 at DramaBox Lite's $12.99 (TopDrama.app calculation). Where do the calculator's default numbers come from?
Every default is taken from a documented report, and the least certain ones are flagged. DramaBox does not publish a price sheet: Apple shows only 10 in-app items without billing periods, so per-episode and per-series costs are estimates. The table lists each input, its default, its source and how confident we are.

Why do per-episode coin reports conflict?
Per-episode reports conflict because DramaBox does not publish a coin price per episode and users see different offers. A 2024 App Store review described "15 coins, which equals 3 episodes" (about 5 coins each). QWE AI Academy (2026) claims about 50 coins per episode. What does the App Store actually list?
The US App Store lists DramaBox in-app items from $4.99 to $19.99: "Membership" at $5.99, $17.99 and $19.99, and coin "Special offers" at $4.99, $9.99 and $19.99 (seen 25 Sep 2026). In the UK, Membership is £12.99 and offers are £2.99, £6.99 and £12.99. DramaBox Lite is $12.99 a week, $39.99 a month or $129.99 a year (Sensor Tower, Jul 2026). How can you lower what a series costs?
You can lower the cost of a series in four ways: use free coins, binge in one paid week, pick shorter series and avoid forgotten renewals. DramaBox's developer says users can unlock dramas "by collecting free coins through completing tasks or simply by watching ads". Users report a cap of 8–15 ad unlocks a day, though DramaBox publishes no official limit.
Does the one-week binge actually save money?
Yes, if you finish at least two series in the week. At our defaults, two series cost $30.00 by coins versus $19.99 for a week of VIP (TopDrama.app calculation). Cancel auto-renewal on day one. On store subscriptions, access normally continues to the end of the paid week.
Is an annual plan worth it?
An annual plan is worth it only if you would otherwise pay for more than about 10 weeks a year. DramaBox's main-app annual price has no official figure: users report about $200–$220, and blog claims of $49.99 are unverified.
