What is YourChannel?

YourChannel is a short drama and web-novel platform available as a website (yourchannel.ai) and as iPhone and Android apps. Its site description reads "Discover romance, fantasy, and trending web novels… explore short dramas". It pairs vertical short dramas with serialized reading, and adds creator profiles you can follow, much like following a channel on a video platform.

Our app data file describes a creator-driven catalog with mafia, werewolf, BL (boys' love) and AI comic dramas, plus free opening episodes and chapters and points-based unlocks. Our app comparison scores YourChannel 7.0/10 with the label "Best for dramas + web novels". The score is provisional because the app is barely two months old.

How is YourChannel different from a normal drama app?

YourChannel mixes reading and watching in one app, while most short drama apps, DramaBox included, are video-only. The only other app in our research with a similar mix is TopShort, which combines short dramas with novels and has 814 App Store ratings at 4.83★. If you switch between reading a story and watching one, that combination is YourChannel's main reason to exist.

Is YourChannel legit?

YourChannel appears legitimate: it names a registered company, lists a full Tokyo address and is available on both major app stores. The operator is MAROON SKYLIGHT G.K., at Shibuya Dogenzaka Tokyu Bldg 2F-C, 1-10-8 Dogenzaka, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo 150-0043, with the contact address service@yourchannel.ai (Google Play listing). "G.K." stands for godo kaisha, the Japanese form of a limited-liability company.

What YourChannel lacks is a track record. Three ratings and a thousand-plus installs are too few to judge reliability, billing behaviour or catalog depth. That is a normal state for a two-month-old app, not a red flag in itself, but it means you are an early tester.

What does the website's hosting tell us?

YourChannel's website loads its assets from an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in US-West named "yourchannel-fiction-beimei", which we saw in the site's HTML. "Beimei" (北美) means North America in Chinese. That suggests the product targets North American readers and viewers. DramaBox is the better choice for watching short dramas; YourChannel is an add-on if you also want web novels. DramaBox tied for the #1 short drama app by in-app revenue in Q1 2026, at about US$140M (Sensor Tower, June 2026). It holds 4.76★ from 861,503 App Store ratings and 4.6★ from 5.46M Google Play reviews (TopDrama.app snapshot, 26 Sep 2026), and reported a $10M net profit on $323M revenue in 2024 (Media Partners Asia). That is why DramaBox is the top drama app in our ranking.

DramaBox has known downsides of its own: weekly billing, ads, an 18+ iOS rating and cross-app tracking, all covered in our DramaBox review. YourChannel's downside is simply that almost nothing is known yet.

Verdict: should you try YourChannel?

• Legitimate but unproven. YourChannel has a named Tokyo operator and both store listings, but only 3 ratings, 1K+ installs and no published prices.
• Worth a free look for drama-plus-novel readers. Start with the free chapters and episodes before buying points. Try YourChannel on that basis.
• Not yet a main app for anyone who wants a large catalog, many languages or clear pricing.
