What is ShortPeak?

ShortPeak is a short drama platform at shortpeak.tv built to work without an app. Its about page answers the install question directly: "No. ShortPeak works straight in your browser… phone, tablet or desktop." It also runs inside Telegram as a Mini App. Every title starts with free episodes, and the site says "No subscription is required".

The catalog is AI-generated, as the platform's own Terms state, and leans heavily toward adult romance: stepfamily, BL, "Forbidden Desire" and harem themes, plus an "Exclusive" section. The site is available in 10 locales: English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Thai and Chinese. Is ShortPeak the same as PeakShort?

No. ShortPeak and PeakShort are different, unrelated products. ShortPeak is the website shortpeak.tv and has no App Store listing. PeakShort is a Google Play app, "PeakShort - Drama, Reels, TV", from a different developer. If you searched Google Play for "ShortPeak", the result you saw was probably PeakShort.

Is ShortPeak legit?

ShortPeak is a functioning paid platform with a real payment provider, but it does not yet say who runs it. Its Terms, Refund and Contact pages, last updated 2 Sep 2026, carry the notice "Draft. Company registration and contact details are not published yet." In practice, you cannot identify the company you are paying or where it is based.

Two things work in ShortPeak's favour. First, card payments go through Polar as merchant of record. A merchant of record is the business legally responsible for the sale, so Polar, not an anonymous site, handles the transaction and the receipt. Second, the site is open about its content being AI-generated. Even so, an undisclosed operator with draft legal pages sits well below the standard of a store-listed app like DramaBox.

Who owns ShortPeak?

ShortPeak's owner is not disclosed. We noticed that ShortPeak shares its site template with SagaBox (sagabox.tv): an identical "VIP +30 +10" rewards widget, the same /vip page layout, and a coin ladder that matches SagaBox's one step apart. One practical tip from the ladder: if you need about 1,000 coins, the single 1,100-coin pack ($14.39) is cheaper than a 700 plus a 300 pack ($16.78) and gives you 100 more coins (TopDrama.app calculation).

Are ShortPeak coins cheap compared with other platforms?

ShortPeak coins are mid-priced in the category, but coin counts cannot be compared directly between platforms, because each one charges a different number of coins per episode. The chart shows coins per $1 in each platform's best-value pack.

What does AI-generated content mean on ShortPeak?

ShortPeak's Terms (§3) state that its content "is produced using artificial intelligence generation tools", so every title should be assumed to be AI-made. That follows a category-wide shift. CNSA estimates cited by CNBC (26 Aug 2026) say about 128,000 short dramas were released in China in Q1 2026, "over 95% of which were AI." DramaBox's parent Dianzhong released 1,287 AI short dramas in May 2026.

The difference is the mix. DramaBox combines translated Chinese dramas, live-action originals from a Los Angeles studio, and AI-made titles, while ShortPeak is AI-only. In China, NRTA Order No. 16 (effective 1 Sep 2026) requires a visible AI label on every AI-generated micro-drama episode. Is ShortPeak safe to pay for?

Small payments to ShortPeak carry limited risk because Polar is the merchant of record; large top-ups are harder to justify. The refund page exists but is marked "Draft", and no company contact is published, so your practical routes for a problem are Polar's receipt and your card issuer. Before paying:

• Use the check-in and task coins first to test whether unlocks work smoothly.

Verdict: is ShortPeak worth it?

• Convenient but opaque. ShortPeak works in any browser or in Telegram with free episodes and no subscription, but its operator and legal pages are still unpublished drafts.
• For adults who like AI-made romance, free episodes plus check-in coins are a low-risk way in. Visit ShortPeak and avoid the "Popular" 700-coin pack.
• Not for minors, big spenders or anyone who needs a named company to contact. And don't confuse it with the PeakShort Google Play app.
